About Me
As a learner:
In 2007, I graduated with an Advanced Diploma cum Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Engineering from Tunku Abdul Rahman College. Since then, I have worked in various IT support roles in the Education, Banking & Financial sectors. I have also ventured into the Cyber Security domain, working as an anti-virus analyst and in multiple Security Operations Centers (SOC). I believe that learning is a lifelong process, and we must continue to learn to improve ourselves. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I pursued a master's degree in Cyber Security. After graduating in November 2023, I switched my career domain again to the education line. I obtained the MBOT certification to become a Professional Technologist (Ts.) and am currently pursuing the Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education (PGDTTs) offered by UCSI University. I pass on this philosophy of continuous learning to my child.
As a lecturer:
I am a lecturer who recently joined UCSI College in October 2023 after graduating with a master's degree from the University Kebangasan Malaysia (UKM) in November 2023. Since starting to teach in January 2024, I have been committed to incorporating various philosophies of education, such as Confucianism, Constructivism, and Pragmatism, into my IT and Cyber Security related subjects. Confucianism emphasizes the importance of education and self-cultivation, which I believe is essential for students pursuing careers in IT and Cyber Security. Constructivism emphasizes the importance of active learning and problem-solving, which I incorporate into my teaching methods to help students develop critical thinking skills. Pragmatism emphasizes the practical application of knowledge, which is particularly relevant in IT and Cyber Security fields where students need to be able to apply their knowledge to real-world situations. Through my studies of pedagogy, Bloom's taxonomy, formative assessment, summative assessment, and more, I have gained a deeper understanding of how to effectively engage and educate my students."
