Embracing Growth: Reflecting on My First Year as a Lecturer at UCSI College

Reflecting on my first anniversary as a lecturer at UCSI College, this past year has marked a transformative journey, moving from my role as an industry practitioner to becoming an educator. Having joined on 2 October 2023, I stepped outside my comfort zone, transitioning from back-end operational work to standing confidently at the front of a classroom. It has been an experience of growth, both personally and professionally, overcoming challenges that I once thought insurmountable.

From being an analyst who worked behind the scenes, I now find fulfillment in engaging with students, delivering lectures, and sharing insights in a dynamic, interactive environment. Each day, I adapt and learn, balancing the demands of teaching, course preparation, student engagement, marketing activities, and administrative responsibilities. This transition has taught me resilience and adaptability, particularly as I bridge the gap between industry practices and the academic world.

The learning curve is steep, but I am eager to embrace the opportunities ahead as I continue to grow within the private education sector. I look forward to furthering my journey as an educator, continually evolving and contributing to both my students and the institution.
