Campus visit from Wisdom Spring Academy

On June 24, 2024, UCSI College welcomed a campus visit from Wisdom Spring Academy, hosting about 40 students and their teachers. Wisdom Spring Academy offers the US High School Diploma and General Educational Development (GED), making these students potential candidates for our ADTP, UKDTP, and 3+0 BIT with Murdoch programs. Representing the IT School, I conducted a one-hour workshop titled "Your first steps into the World of Cyber Security and IT" which focused on enhancing students' cybersecurity awareness. The workshop included phishing awareness videos, an online game related to cybersecurity, and a live demonstration of interactive attack maps to emphasize the importance of vigilance in online activities. Playing the online game with the students was particularly engaging, and I strongly believe they gained valuable knowledge on maintaining good cybersecurity habits. Additionally, I presented the top ten promising career areas in information technology, highlighting key fields for their tertiary education consideration. This visit aimed to introduce students to UCSI College and ignite their interest in our Bachelor of Information Technology with double majors in Cyber Security Forensics and Business Information Systems, as well as our UKDTP and ADTP programs, with the hope of encouraging future student enrollment.
